Two massive weekend games for SETU Wildcats

It's looking good for the Wildcats as they enter the second half of the season in top spot, but it will be all hands on deck for two big games lie in store for Jillian Hayes team this weekend. Photo: Noel Browne
SETU Wildcats sit in top spot of Basketball Ireland's Super League table and if they are to remain there they will have to produce two of their best performances in a time frame of 22 hours.
They face two Dublin teams who both fancy they have a serious chance of taking the title. The first of these is away to Trinity Meteors at 5.30pm this Saturday in Dublin. Then it's straight back home to host Killester at 3pm on Sunday at the Mercy Sports Hall.
Results against both oppositions in the first half of the league are mixed with a win and a loss in very tight games. Wildcats first game of the season was away to Killester where they went down 83 - 79.
From there the Waterford side went on a winning streak which included a 91-86 win in a thriller at home to Meteors. Since that game Trinity Meteors have taken major scalps most notably their recent home win over Liffey Celtics.
Same goes for reigning champions Killester who have been vicious in most of their encounters and would love to take the title to compensate for their recent Cup final loss to Liffey Celtics. Last weekend there was a break in the Super League due to Ireland's recent internationals against France and Latvia. The Hickey sisters Kate and Sarah were part of Team Ireland who had two tough games.
Hopefully they will have recovered for another two tough games when they line out for the STS sponsored Wildcats this coming Saturday and Sunday.
