The Republic of Ireland women's team have had their second win over Poland in a week.

Marissa Sheva's goal separated the sides at full-time in their World Cup qualifying game at the Aviva Stadium.

It left Carla Ward's side with 6 points from 4 games so far.

Denise O'Sullivan and Emily Murphy picked up yellow cards and will both miss the next game against the Netherlands.

Later, the Dutch face off with fellow Group 2 side France at 8.10pm.

Wolves could be relegated from the Premier League this evening.

They trail Leeds United 3-0 late on in their clash so far.

If Tottenham beat Brighton later, Wolves will be down to the Championship.

Elsewhere, Adrien Truffert looks to have given Bournemouth a 2-1 win away to Newcastle.

Earlier, Brentford and Fulham finished goalless.

Ireland take on Italy in round 2 of the Women's Six Nations on Saturday evening.

Scott Bemand's side will be looking to put their opening day defeat to England behind them.

Kick-off is at 5:40pm.

In the early game, England thrashed Scotland by 84 points to 7.

In the URC, Connacht came from behind to beat the Stormers by 33 points to 24 in South Africa.

John Devine scored his first try for the visitors while Sean Naughton scored the clincher late on.

Meanwhile, this evening, Munster are in Italy to face Benetton from 7.45pm.

GAA

Galway and Kilkenny are looking to kick off their Championship seasons with a win this evening.

They are meeting in the opening round of the Leinster Hurling championship in Salthill where it's Galway 0-05 Kilkenny 0-06 so far.

Later, Dublin make the trip to Offaly, and Kildare welcome Wexford for their opening games of the campaign.

Both throw in at 6.30pm.

The Ulster football championship continues this evening as well.

Derry have welcomed Antrim and that game is just under way.

The winner of that one will face Monaghan or Cavan in the semi-finals.

Roisin Kirwan was the hero for Waterford as they progressed in the Munster camogie championship this afternoon.

Her last-minute point saw the Deise squeeze past Clare by 0-25 to 3-15 after extra time.

Their semi-final was level 18 points to 2-12 at full time before Waterford eventually emerged as the victors.

In the Leinster Championship, there is the quarter-final meeting of Offaly and Dublin, which is into the second half in Tullamore.

Latest score there is Offaly 0-05 Dublin 1-07.

Dublin GAA say they have been unsuccessful in their attempts to see Ger Brennan's ban overturned.

The football boss was suspended for 12 weeks following his clash with a member of Galway's backroom staff during a league game last month.

He appealed the case to the Disputes Resolution Authority, which met this morning but ruled against the All Ireland winner.

It means Dean Rock will deputise in his place for tomorrow's Leinster football game against Wicklow.

Brennan will also miss the opening two games of their Sam Maguire campaign.

It's the opening day of the World Snooker Championships in Sheffield.

Northern Ireland's Mark Allen is 5 frames to 3 down to China's Zhang Anda in their clash which will resume tomorrow.

Defending world champion Zhao Xintong is 5-4 up on Liam Highfield.

On the table, Mark Williams is level 3-3 with Polish whiz kid Antoni Kowalski in their first round tie at the Crucible.

The first to 10 frames will progress to the next round.
