The Republic of Ireland women's team are looking to win back-to-back games in their World Cup qualifying campaign this afternoon.

They have welcomed Poland to the Aviva Stadium following Tuesday's 3-2 victory over the same opponents in Gdansk.

It has just gotten underway in Dublin.

Carla Ward has made one change from the team that won that day, with Kyra Carusa in for Abbie Larkin in the forwards.

Later, fellow Group 2 sides France and the Netherlands face off this evening from 8:10pm.

Kick-off is at 5:40pm.

In the early game, England lead Scotland 49-7 at Murrayfield.

In the URC, Connacht came from behind to beat the Stormers by 33 points to 24 in South Africa.

John Devine scored his first try for the visitors while Sean Naughton scored the clincher late on.

Meanhile this evening, Munster are in Italy to face Benetton from 7.45pm.

GAA

Galway and Kilkenny is the pick of today's Leinster Hurling Championship action, which gets up and running on Saturday afternoon.

The Tribesmen were emphatic 36 points to 17 winners over the Cats in their league encounter last month.

Throw-in at Pearse Stadium is at 4:30pm.

And fresh from their Division 1B triumph last weekend, Clare are getting their Munster Camogie tilt underway on Saturday afternoon.

They are taking on 1A runners up Waterford and the Deise lead that one by 9 points to 1-5 so far.

While in the Leinster Championship, there's the quarter-final meeting of Offaly and Dublin in Tullamore at 4pm.
