Waterford Camogie part ways with manager Jerry Wallace

Waterford Camogie are in a hunt for a new manager after parting ways with Jerry Wallace following a review of the National Camogie League where the Déise finished the campaign with victory over Tipperary.

Wallace, who took over the team following the departure of Sean Power after the county lost out to Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final at Croke Park A statement released by Waterford Camogie chairperson Sean Molloy read: “Following the conclusion and review of the National Camogie League 2025, Waterford Camogie are parting company with Jerry Wallace Manager and would like to thank him for participating as Senior Manager and Lead Coach with their Senior Inter-County team for season 2024/25.

“Waterford under Wallace competed competitively to the quarter final of last seasons All Ireland losing to Galway and were strong and progressive in both the 2024 and 2025 National Division 1 Camogie League. Waterford's status is guaranteed in Division 1 of the National Camogie league for 2026.” The statement continued: “In a review of the season to date Jerry noted and complimented the players of Waterford for their spirit, commitment to rise to the next level, their work ethic and respect shown to him, but now is the time to allow some other person/persons continue the Waterford Senior Camogie Journey.

“The team now enters preparation for the Munster Semi-Final vs Tipperary and All Ireland championship and will have a New Management team in place shortly. The Waterford Camogie Board would like to acknowledge Wallace for stepping in following Waterford's demise in the 2023 All Ireland Final to Cork and for recreating a strong, confident, competitive Inter county program for their players. We wish Jerry the very best as he now retires from Coaching with great memories.”
