Following two years at the helm of the Waterford senior hurling team, Peter Queally has confirmed that he will not be continuing in the role of senior manager.

The term of his tenure was for two years, which has now been fulfilled. There was an option to extend the term to a third year, however following recent discussions with the Chairman of the Board, Queally says he was disappointed to learn that he did not have the full support of the Board to continue in the role and so he has decided to part ways.

Queally expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the team’s efforts over the past two seasons. He extended his thanks to his management and backroom team, to the players, and to the Waterford supporters.

The Waterford News and Star understands that Donal O'Rourke has expressed interest to stay on board and could be joined by former Cork manager Pat Ryan.
