Minor hurling race reaches last group games

Big games down for decision this evening
Minor hurling race reaches last group games

The race for the Minor hurling championship will reach the final stages this evening (Wednesday).

With the final rounds of the All County Minor Hurling Championships to be played tomorrow the semi-final line ups for the Division 1 title have already been decided with Mount Sion clinching the fourth place as a result of beating De La Salle in Gracedieu last week on a score of 1-21 to 3-13.

The results of tomorrow evening’s games will not change the line ups that will see Ballygunner playing Mouint Sion and De La Salle facing Roanmore.

With Mount Sion and Ballygunner playing each other in their final Group game this evening and set to meet again next week it would not be surprising if this game is set aside.

In the Division 1 Shield Dungarvan can claim top seeding with a home win over Abbeyside tomorrow with Ballyduff Upper and Brickey Rangers also in the draw.

In Division 2 a home win for Erins Own over Tramore could see the Poleberry side into top place should Lismore fail to win away to St. Saviours/Ferrybank. The top four will remain unchanged however, with Passage in fourth position.

The semi-finalists in Division 3 depend on tomorrow’s results. St. Olivers are assured of top spot while Cois Bhride are also in the semi-finals. The last two places will be decided by tomorrow’s results. Fourmilewater look safe even if they are defeated away to St. Olivers. Fourmilewater are on seven points with An Ghaeltacht and Clan na Gael, who meet tomorrow evening, on six points. Only the winner of that game can overtake Fourmilewater should they lose to Olivers so An Ghaeltacht and Clan na Gael are competing for the last semi-final place.

The Division 4 final looks set to come down to a shoot out between unbeaten sides Stradbally and Naomh Brid.
