Mark Fitzgerald will be available for Waterford's Munster championship clash with Limerick next weekend.

County board officials confirmed on Sunday afternoon that Fitzgerald's three black cards this season won't result in a one match ban for the Passage defender. As those three black card offences didn't lead to red cards, Déise manager Peter Queally will be able to call on his captain for the trip to the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Rule 7.2 of the GAA's Official Guide states that a one match suspension will be served for "the accumulation of three orderings off for Infractions that follow the issuing of two Yellow or Black Cards of any sequence or combination committed in the same year in the National Hurling League, the Inter-County Hurling Championship or in a combination of both Competitions." A ten minute sin bin doesn't constitute an ordering off however so Fitzgerald is clear to play in a must-win encounter for Queally's men.
