Déise can end 18-year wait for Ladies All-Star

Waterford's Bríd McMaugh has been nominated for a Ladies Football All-Star.
Tomás McCarthy Waterford trio Emma Murray, Bríd McMaugh and Lauren McGregor are among the nominees for the 2025 TG4 Ladies Football All Star Awards. It’s 18 years since a Déise player won one of these prestigious gongs. Rebecca Hallahan was the last to do so back in 2007.
Waterford goal machine Lauren McGregor should make the chosen fifteen. She scored an astonishing 13 goals and 31 points this season including 13-19 from play. 6-16 in Division 1, 5-5 in the Munster championship and 2-10 in the All Ireland series!
The Dungarvan attacker raised green flags against Meath, Tyrone, Mayo, Tipperary, Kerry, Cork, Leitrim and Galway. She faces stiff competition in the full forward line however as Dublin duo Hannah Tyrell and Kate Sullivan, Meath pair Emma Duggan and Vikki Wall as well as Kerry hotshots Siofra O'Shea and Danielle O'Leary are also in the shake-up.
Captain Emma Murray is another strong contender at midfield. She was named on the Division 1 Team of the League and then picked up the Player of the Month award for June. An outstanding ball carrier, tackler, point scorer and leader all year long.
Bríd McMaugh is nominated in the half forward line. The Ballymacarbry score getter produced 1-14 across three games in the All Ireland series (1-13 from play). She stepped up to the plate this summer in the absence of club mate Kellyann Hogan. Player of the Match against Dublin Hannah Power was very unlucky to miss out on a nomination in defence.
All Ireland champions Dublin dominate the long list with twelve nominations while runners-up Meath got ten. The 2025 TG4 All Star team will be revealed at a gala banquet at The Bonnington Hotel in Dublin on Saturday, November 15.
