Comeragh Rangers and Ballymac contest county final again

Emma Murray and Keeley Corbett Barry lift the senior title for Comeragh Rangers in 2024. Can they do back-to-back titles?

Fierce rivals Comeragh Rangers and Ballymacarbry will face off in the Waterford senior ladies football final for the twelfth time in thirteen years on Friday, October 3.

Both of them enjoyed comprehensive semi-final wins on Sunday afternoon. Reigning champions Comeragh Rangers got the better of Gaultier 4-14 to 0-8 in the Lemybrien sunshine.

Déise attacker Katie Murray, scorer of four goals in last year’s county final, netted twice for Ger Power’s charges while Shauna Dunphy and Áine Power also raised green flags.

Ballymacarbry defeated Stradbally 4-8 to 1-9 at the Dungarvan GAA grounds. Two Aileen Wall goals and one from Ruby Browne sent Mike Guiry’s side 3-3 to 0-5 ahead at half time. All Star nominee Bríd McMaugh came off the subs bench to add a fourth late on.

Ballymac, who relinquished their crown twelve months ago, can’t call on Kellyann Hogan this season as she has moved to AFLW outfit Collingwood. Former Waterford defender Mairéad Wall is back on board however after recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury.

St Anne’s will go up against Tramore in the intermediate final while St Pat’s and St Oliver’s will do battle in the junior decider.
