Poll suggests small lead for Seán Kyne in Galway byelection

Fine Gael’s Seán Kyne holds the slimmest of leads over Independent Ireland rival Noel Thomas in the Galway West byelection campaign, according to an Irish Times/TG4 opinion poll.
The poll, carried out by Ipsos B&A, has the Fine Gael candidate on 17 per cent, with Thomas on 16 per cent.
Labour candidate Helen Ogbu is on 12 per cent, with the Social Democrats Míde Nic Fhionnlaoich on nine per cent.
Fianna Fáil's Cillian Keane is on eight per cent, with Sinn Féin's Mark Lohan one back on seven, along with Independent Mike Cubbard.
Niall Murphy of the Green Party on six per cent, Independent Thomas Welby on six per cent and Orla Nugent of Aontú on four per cent.
The Galway-West by-election will take place on the 22nd of May, alongside one in Dublin-Central.
