Woman disputes that she committed burglary in Waterford city
It is understood by Gardaí that the victim of a burglary was having dinner in the premises when they realised items were missing.
A woman made an appearance in Waterford District Court last week in connection with committing multiple alleged offences in the city. The matters involve Alice O’Neill (42), of 205 O’Connell Street, Penrose Lane. Ms O’Neill is fighting against all the charges.
It is alleged that on July 13, 2025, she entered The Anchorage Guesthouse on the Quay as a trespasser and committed theft of items to the value of €1,850. It's alleged she took watches, glasses and cash.
A separate burglary case involving Ms O’Neill is alleged to have taken place at a premises on O’Connell Street. It is understood by Gardaí that the victim of the burglary was having dinner in the premises when they realised items were missing and a bathroom window was open. Approximately €400 was allegedly taken.
Another alleged incident occurred in July 2025 at Thomas Hill Car Park, Waterford city. It is alleged that Ms. O’Neill broke a window and entered an office premises in the area. No money or goods were taken during the incident, the woman’s solicitor Kenneth Cunningham said.
Alice O’Neill’s matters will be raised again in Waterford District Court next month for the purpose of fixing a hearing date.
