The funding will go to Waterford projects like the Lafcadio Gardens in Tramore.
Over a quarter of a million euro of Government funding will be going to eight social enterprises in Waterford.
A sum of €257,538 will go to the projects under the Dormant Accounts Fund Growing Social Enterprise Fund.
The Shona Project, Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens and Treo Port Láirge CLG are just a few of the enterprises that will benefit from the fund.
Fine Gael Minister John Cummins said of the funding: "Strong social enterprises are important for our local communities and play a crucial role in creating jobs, addressing social challenges, and fostering a more inclusive society, so I’m delighted to see funding of €257,538 for social enterprises in Waterford."
He continued: "The purpose of this fund is to provide capital grant supports to assist social enterprises across Ireland to achieve their social, environmental or economic objectives."
