'We have too many lives lost on the roads this year,' Gardaí's plea for drivers to slow down

Tramore gardaí have fined a motorist and seized a vehicle which was travelling at almost 100km/her in a 60Km/hr zone.

In a post on social media, Waterford gardaí said that on Tuesday, they detected a vehicle travelling at 96Km/hr in Newtown, Kilmacthomas.

“Please slow down. We have too many lives lost on the roads this year,” said gardaí They issued a fine and said penalty points will follow.

But that wasn’t all.

Gardaí said that while dealing with the incident, they discovered that the motor tax on the car expired last December.

So gardaí seized the vehicle as well.
