Sun Life has received Investors in Diversity Gold reaccreditation after first receiving Gold accreditation in 2023.

Sun Life has also been recognized as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces in the large employer category, adding to previous recognitions as a Best Place to Work in tech and the Great Place to Work certification.

Sun Life is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace that prioritizes people and a healthy work/life balance.

“Ireland continues to grow as a place for top talent and successful business, and Sun Life has established itself as an employer of choice,” said Donna Tilson, Assistant Vice President, IT Integration Strategy & Ireland Site Management, Sun Life.

“With nearly 600 employees here in Waterford, we are committed to an inclusive, supportive workplace that shows employees they are valued and also drives productivity.” This year’s Best Workplaces ranking for Sun Life was its highest ever, rising to number five from number 14 last year. This marks Sun Life’s third consecutive year as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces.

Paula Kelly, Director of Human Resources at Sun Life, said, “We are proud of the culture we have created at Sun Life, and we continue to drive a collaborative, inclusive workplace that keeps employees engaged, whether they are in the office or at home.”

The Irish Centre for Diversity accredits workplaces on one of three tiers: Bronze, Silver and Gold. A Gold designation signifies not just successful inclusion policies, but leadership in inclusive business practices.

Sun Life is one of only nine organizations to receive Investors in Diversity Gold reaccreditation, and one of only 26 organizations to hold the Gold designation.

“Congratulations to everyone at Sun Life for successfully upholding Investors in Diversity Gold,” said Caroline Cummins, Managing Director, Irish Centre for Diversity.

“We look forward to supporting them as they advance along their journey of continuous progress.”

Ireland’s Best Workplace recognition is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace experience.

In addition to receiving other workplace recognitions in Canada and the U.S., Sun Life has been recognized globally as a Great Place to Work.
