Waterford theatre group looks ahead as curtain falls on season
Portlaw Players are now looking forward to their next production
The members of one theatre group in County Waterford are actively looking forward to next year now that the curtain has fallen on this year's season of stage activities.
Portlaw Players is one of the most active and highly regarded theatrical groups in the county.
In a recent post the group commented: 'And that's a wrap, folks. Portlaw Players' Chapter 2 has come to a close, but what a resounding success it's been. Four sell-out nights across two venues, with packed houses and beaming faces leaving the theatre.'
That's the kind of reaction that every theatre group hopes to receive and everyone involved with the Portlaw organisation is very appreciative of the support they received from the general public.
"We're overwhelmed with gratitude for your support," said one of those involved.
Words of appreciation were also conveyed to the owners of Clodagh Bar and Cotton Mill for the use of their fantastic facilities and also to their colleagues in Portlaw Musical Society for their support and the hardworking Portlaw Players committee.
"Thanks to everyone who supplied prizes for the raffle each night and to Frankie Cullinane for the fantastic professional images of cast and as MC during the run," said the group member.
However, now the firm focus is on next year with the group member commenting: "As we bid adieu to Chapter 2, we're already looking forward to 2026 and the next chapter in our theatrical journey."
"We invite you to join us again, to spread the word, and to help our drama group grow from strength to strength," she said.
"Your enthusiasm and encouragement mean the world to us."
