The ladies football squad who won their way through to the Minor East Munster final
The St Declan's Community College's minor ladies footballers were in action recently against St. Anne's Secondary School, in Kilsheelan, and secured a great win to progress to the Minor East Munster Final on a scoreline of 3-09 to 1-13.
A spokesperson for the school commented on the win to waterford-news.ie and said: "It was a super game with passing, tackling and scoring all on display from both sides at pace."
"St. Declan's hit the cross bar and the upright in the first five minutes but scored the opened point," she said.
"Once St. Anne’s settled, they lead from the 12th minute shooting points very accurately, with a five point lead at half time," she added.
St. Declan’s came out strong in the second half but were eight points (1-12 to 0-7) down with 10 minutes to go.
"With a never give up attitude the girls keeping passing and the scores came," said the spokesperson.
"Three goals and two points in 10 minutes, is impressive," she added.
"What a finish."
