Waterford petrol station robbery case progresses

Court proceedings surrounding an alleged attempted robbery from a service station in Waterford are progressing.
The man accused of the crime is Aaron Butler (35), of 6A Barnes Lane, The Glen.
It is alleged that on June 7, Butler entered Corrib Oil-Circle K on Military Road armed with a knife and demanding money.
Gardaí later obtained CCTV from the immediate area, which showed a masked man entering a nearby residence shortly after the incident. Gardaí later arrived at the residence, finding a knife located in a fireplace along with traces of burnt clothing.
During a brief appearance in Waterford District Court last week, Butler was informed that a Book of Evidence is ready to be served.
The matter will return to court on Tuesday, September 15, for further updates.
