Waterford mental health seminar gives peace of mind

The Dr Mary Strangman Large Room in Waterford's City Hall provided the venue for a very special seminar event recently that proved to be a great success.
Waterford Disability Network organised the event which was based around raising mental health awareness under the title of 'Peace of Mind Mental Health Awareness Seminar'.

The organisers were delighted with the turnout and the overall positive nature of the night.
They expressed gratitude to everyone who attended for taking the time out to give the seminar their support.
A spokesperson for Waterford Disability Network told Waterford News & Star that it was the organisation's most successful seminar to-date, with over 100 people attending.
"We would especially like to give a special mention to our guest speakers, in particular, John Lonergan, Mary Butler TD, Minister of State at the Department of Health (Mental Health & Older People), Sharon Maher, Leslie Hughes, Jade Coleman and Paul Beech," said the spokesperson, who went on to praise the Waterford Metropolitan Mayor for opening the event: "We would also like to thank the Metropolitan Mayor Cllr Joe Kelly for opening the seminar."

A special mention was also given to the staff in Waterford Disability Network, Heather, Don and Michelle, for all their work behind the scenes and for their work on the night of the event.

Waterford Disability Network is a charity organisation based in Waterford City and it provides a free information service for people with disabilities in addition to offering other types of support.

The organisation is also part of the Waterford Public Participation Network (PPN).
