Waterford man accused of firearm offence waiting on DPP

A Waterford man appeared in Waterford District Court on Monday, September 28, in relation to a firearm offence.
Tomas Cullen (42), of Prospect House, Coolfin, Portlaw, appeared before Judge Catriona Murray.
Solicitor Ken Cunningham informed the Judge that the case was "waiting DPP directions" and that his client was "continuing psychiatric evaluation".
The matter will be revisited on October 6.
Cullen was arrested on Broad Street, Waterford City, on Friday, September 11, after allegedly pulling out a firearm in the presence of people, including schoolchildren. He was charged under section 9A and 9(5) of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act, 1990, for the unlawful possession of a realistic imitation firearm and for producing said firearm with the intent to cause fear or intimidate others.
