Waterford lifeboat member gets Royal treatment in Buckingham Palace

A member of the RNLI in County Waterford received Royal treatment when he was invited to a garden party in Buckingham Palace.
A spokesperson for the organisation said it was a proud day for Tramore Lifeboat launching authority, Stephen Murray and his wife, Marese, when they were invited to the royal palace for a garden party celebration to mark the RNLI’s 200th anniversary.
The prestigious event was attended by lifeboat crew members, lifeguards, water safety volunteers, fundraisers and recipients of a variety of special awards and honours.
Speaking in the wake of the event, Stephen expressed pride in representing Tramore Lifeboat, commenting: “I was really proud to represent Tramore lifeboat on this unique occasion.”
“It has been a privilege to volunteer at Tramore RNLI since I was 17 years old and throughout my adult life,” said Stephen.
Everyone in the lifeboat community in Tramore expressed congratulations to Stephen and they also thanked him for his years of excellent service to Tramore RNLI and the wider community.
