Waterford First Responders hosted their first 'Oglach Ball' recently in the Tower Hotel and the event was a great success.
It was organised to acknowledge all the hard work that voluntary groups do around the city.
Volunteers were presented with awards on the night in recognition of their dedication and commitment to their respective organisations.

Among those in attendance were members of Re-A-Suir, Waterford City River Rescue, the Portlaw branch of the Irish Red Cross and the Waterford First Responders themselves.
Metro Mayor, Councillor Joe Kelly praised the volunteers as he presented them with their awards and he also complimented the volunteers for giving up their time to help people in their local communities.

The Copperhead Road Band, whose members travelled from around Ireland to perform at the event, provided an amazing night of entertainment and local DJ Darragh O'Connor was also in attendance to give support to the event.
Derek Burke, Chairman of the Waterford First Responders said the ball was a huge success and it's hoped it will become a regular event in Waterford City.
