Waterford council issue warning as elevated bacteria levels found in beach and stream

Waterford City and County have carried out tests on two bodies of water and found elevated levels of bacteria.
To prevent illness, the council is prohibiting bathing, playing and paddling until further notice.
Testing was carried out in Ardmore and the Dunmore East Stream on Tuesday.
Additional testing is due to be carried out in Ardmore and the beach will reopen when the water returns to a good status.
In Dunmore East, the council are also advising the public not to drink or wash with the water.
If the water comes in contact with your hands, wash carefully.
And keep pets away from the water.
