The Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a number of break-ins that occurred in the city and surrounding areas in recent days.

The Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a number of break-ins that occurred in the city and surrounding areas in recent days, including a break-in to a well-known charity shop in the city.

A spokesperson for the force outlined details of the incidents to Waterford News and Star and waterford-news.ie.

She said that among the incidents, that occurred in the Waterford City Community Engagement Area, Jack and Jill's Children's Charity Shop on  O'Connell Street, in the city, was broken into between 2am and 2.30am on Wednesday, December 10. 

A number of items were stolen during the break-in including a safe and a black Samsung Galaxy mobile phone. 

"CCTV has been downloaded and an investigation is ongoing," said the Garda spokesperson.

"If you have any information, please contact the crime unit at Waterford Garda Station," she added.

On the same day, Wednesday, December 10, between 00.30am to 1am, a licensed premises in Mullinavat was broken into and a large sum of cash in coins was stolen.

CCTV footage has also been obtained in that matter and the Crime Unit at Waterford Garda Station are investigating the matter.

Any member of the public who can assist the Gardaí with their investigation are asked to contact the crime unit at Dungarvan Garda Station 058 48600 or any Garda Station. 

"Again, we would encourage people to report any suspected crimes by phoning 999/112 or their local Garda Station," said the Garda spokesperson.

"If you see something, say something, or via our audio messaging service on the confidential line on 1800 666 111," she added.
