Water supply returning in Tramore following completion of major repairs
The broken pipe in Tramore
Water supply is returning to customers in Tramore and Butlerstown following the completion of repair works earlier today.
Maura Phelan, Uisce Éireann Water Operations Manager, thanked affected customers for their cooperation during repair works:
"Crews on the ground worked hard to minimise the number of customers affected by the burst and to restore supply as quickly and safely as possible.
"Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the interruption to the water supply and sincerely thanks our customers for their patience and cooperation while essential repair works were carried out."
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network as the system recharges.
As supply returns, there may be instances of discolouration as the network refills.
Customers are advised to run their taps until the water runs clear.
