WATCH: Rescue 117 helicopter and SEMRA assist walker at Coumshingaun in Waterford

South Eastern Mountain Rescue and Coast Guard's Rescue 117 helicopter were tasked to assist a walker at Coumshingaun in County Waterford on Sunday, January 12.
At 1.24pm, SEMRA received a call from National Ambulance Service to assist with the evacuation of an injured walker at Coumshingaun.
SEMRA team members made their way up to the walker’s location and assisted the Coast Guard helicopter R117 winchman, to move the walker a short distance to a location better for winching.
The walker was winched into the R117 helicopter and was on the way to Waterford by 3.06pm.
The stand down order was issued at 4.22pm and all members got safely off the hill.
A SEMRA spokesperson said that during the operation: "Conditions were very cold, with a very chill wind and low lying fog.”
