Walking tour will take in view of WWI practice range

Lovers of the outdoors and history will likely be interested in an upcoming walking tour due to take place in County Waterford.
The 'Walking Tour of Tramore Back Strand', in the company of Paul Brent will take place on Sunday, August 23, at 2pm.
It will begin at the Sea Horse Monument and participants are being invited to take a walk back in time with Paul and learn about the hidden history of the Back Strand.
A spokesperson for Waterford Council said: "Hear about the old racecourse and cycle track and walk along the path over the original golf links."
"View the rifle range used to train soldiers in the First World War," said the spokesperson.
"Visit the sites of Cockle and Kitchen Middens [and] see where the people lived and find out about the crops they grew."
The walking tour will be a free event and booking is required.
