The Vita Community Hub gathered at Central Library for their multi-disciplinary art exhibition, Monday, April 14.

The brilliant, talented students from VITA Community Hub are presenting their creations in a wide-ranging exhibition at Central Library Waterford.

The students have created beautiful works in photography, pottery, and creative writing.

Through their work and creativity, they have put together a calendar filled with their photography, a booklet of prose and pottery pieces.

On Monday, April 14, their work was officially displayed at the Library, and students came to see their wonderful work put up.

Students also took part in pottery classes, creating unique and colourful pieces.

The VITA Creative Writing Group were encouraged by renowned creative Derek Flynn. Local photographer Thomas Grace helped guide the students about the art of photography. Thomas said that he 'was only delighted' to work with the students. He said: "Everything is beautiful in the world depending on how you look at it and if you look at it the right way, you come up with beautiful images."

Creativity

One student said of the photography course: "Our class took place in the community where we went around Waterford City and took pictures of things that interested us. Thomas then showed us how to edit pictures on the computer to make them perfect."

Many of the students learnt about photography and took wonderful pictures of Waterford City.

At the launch, service supervisor James O'Halloran welcomed all the attendees, saying: "This exhibition today combines the collective work of three creative arts courses that were developed at Vita over the last year with the support of the WWETB (Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board). We get to hear from the amazing students who took part in these classes and the tutors who supported them to create all the works that make up the expedition to date."

Creative writing tutor Derek said: "I've been working with the students for a couple of years now and it never ceases to amaze me the amount of creativity we have in the class. We're just absolutely thrilled with how it turned out."
