A bathing ban that was in place at a well-known County Waterford beach has been lifted.

Members of the public had been advised that bathing was prohibited at Clonea Strand.

The bathing prohibition notice was issued by Waterford City & County Council as a result of wastewater discharge.

However, following re-testing from the HSE satisfactory results were returned and the bathing ban was lifted accordingly.
