Three new publicly accessible defibrillators have been installed across Tramore.

The defibrillators will be located at: R McDonald & Sons, The Cove; Haven Pharmacy, Ballycarnane; The home of the Kelly family, Ard Na Ghleanna, 6 Crobally Upper.

“This project shows what can be achieved for the betterment of our community when people work together,” said local Fine Gael councillor Lola O’Sullivan.

“Having these defibrillators available to the public could make the difference between life and death in an emergency, and I’m very grateful to all who helped make it happen.”

Cllr. O’Sullivan partnered with R. McDonald & Sons and Haven Pharmacy for the rollout of the defibrillators.

The defibrillators were paid through Cllr. O’Sullivan’s general municipal allocation- a €256,000 discretionary fund provided by Waterford City and County Council that’s divided between the local authority’s 32 councillors.

The rollout was aided by Tramore’s Order of Malta unit.

Waterford City and County Council’s AED Locator currently lists 25 AED defibrillators in Tramore.

Funded by the Local Democracy Scheme
