The South East Astronomy Club will host an event on November 12, entitled, 'Telescopes, Binoculars & Visual Observing'. The talk is designed for those looking to explore the different varieties of telescopes, from small beginner sets to large reflectors.
The public observing watch will be held at 8pm in the function room of Henry Downe's pub on Thomas Street. Admission is free.
The following day at 7.30pm, there will be a public observatory watch at Kingsmeadow Green, Cork Road.
The events will be held in conjunction with Science Week 2025.
Astronomy club PRO Michael Cronin said if visibility is good, it should be possible to observe Uranus and Neptune, Capella and Vega, with the help of the club's 10-inch Dobsonian telescope.
Jupiter and Orion are also expected to rise during the Watch, while the Moon will stay hidden until midnight.
