Children Arriving for Ardmore School Bus

The issue of school transport in County Waterford and in particular adequate transport being provided for children in areas outside of the city was raised at the October plenary meeting of Waterford City and County Council.

Sinn Féin’s Councillor Catherine Burke referencing the previous monthly meeting, and said: “We haven’t received any correspondence back from the department and I just want to ask can we chase that up or follow it up with a similar letter to the Department of Transport?”

“I think it’s really important that for the people of Waterford there isn’t a problem for school transport for children,” she added.

In response the Meetings Administrator, Honor Dunphy, said: “We only received correspondence from the minister’s office this morning, just to say that they are doing some further investigations and they will be back to us.”
