There were scenes of congratulations in County Waterford recently, when a local volunteer with the RNLI passed an assessment test.

Tramore Lifeboat RNLI volunteer, Ward Griffin successfully passed his Tier 2 crew assessment under RNLI Trainer Assessor Dean Hegarty. 

In an online post the Tramore branch of the organisation noted: 'Ward demonstrated strong competence across all core crew tasks, including launch and recovery, communications, navigation, and boat handling'.

'Achieving Tier 2 status reflects steady commitment, regular training, and a solid grasp of RNLI operational procedures,' added a spokesperson for the branch in the post.

Special thanks was extended to Tramore RNLI's, helms for their dedication to crew development and to the shore crew for their ongoing support.
