There was widespread anger and disappointment in a County Waterford town recently when a life-saving defibrillator was vandalised and stolen.
The public access equipment, an AED, was located in Tramore, but was removed from its location as a result of vandalism.
One local person comment: "The life-saving device, previously located at the old post office opposite the Grand Hotel, has gone missing after being forcibly removed."
It's believed the defibrillator may have been discarded somewhere between the Vee Cafe and the rear of The Haven Pharmacy, on Lower Branch Road.
Members of the public are being asked to keep an eye out and, if found, to return the device to Tramore Garda Station as soon as possible.
It's believed Gardaí have identified a person who they believe might be connected with the incident.
However, members of the public should note that if someone is unfortunately in need of a defibrillator one can be accessed outside of the Tramore unit of the Order of Malta Ireland ambulance corps, on Pond Road.
The community is asked to remain vigilant and assist in ensuring this vital piece of emergency equipment is recovered promptly.
