Public advised of drone survey of river in county Waterford town
The survey is part of an investigation into flooding in Tallow
Waterford City and County Council are advising the public that it will be carrying out a drone survey in Tallow on Friday, April 3.
The drone survey, which is part of a flood mitigation project, will look at the river and the adjacent land.
Landowners are asked to allow access to the private garden.
Security arrangements are in place for the data collected, which will only be used for the flood defence study.
From April 13, there will also be a site survey, weather permitting, and that will take three to five days.
The survey will be conducted on behalf of the council by Malachy Walsh & Partners (MWP) and will investigate flooding issues, identify potential feasible solutions, and prepare a flood defence options report.
The survey is part of a project funded by the Office of Public Works (OPW) under the Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme.
