On Sunday, June 2, Tramore RNLI was tasked to reports of a person in difficulty in a small inflatable dinghy off Tramore beach, near the Ladies slip.

The RNLI lifeboat located the casualty just two minutes later, having drifted almost three hundred metres from the reported location.

The casualty was taken onboard the Tramore RNLI lifeboat and returned to the pier, where they had set off from over two hours earlier.

The casualty was further assessed at the lifeboat station and was found to be tired, but uninjured.

Dave O’Hanolan (helm) commented: “Unfortunately the wind had turned and caught the casualty out, so we’d always be checking the forecast. We would like to commend the member of the public who called 999 and reported the incident”.
