Padel courts planned in Dungarvan
Even more padel tennis courts are being planned in county Waterford.
Dungarvan United Soccer Club have submitted plans to install three courts with fencing enclosures and roof covers at the club’s grounds.
A decision on the development is expected from the local authority before May 20.
Padel tennis courts are springing up across the country, as the sport continues to gain momentum.
According to figures from padelcourts.ie, there are now 224 padel courts in the country, an increase of more than 60pc since 2023.
Since October 2025, padel tennis courts have been planned at eight separate locations across county Waterford, including at Mount Congreve Gardens, St. Anne’s Tennis Club, Gold Coast Golf Resort and West Waterford Golf Club.
