One man arrested as gardaí seize weapons from a residence in Waterford

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing following an incident where a number of weapons were seized in Ballygunner.

A spokesperson from An Garda Síochána told the Waterford News and Star that gardaí responded to a report of a man in possession of an offensive weapon at a residence in Ballygunner shortly before 9pm on Sunday, September 28.

The man in his 40s, was arrested at the scene and gardaí seized a number of weapons.

He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in the Eastern Region.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing, and the man has since been released, with a file to be prepared for the DPP.
