Emmet was a lifelong resident of Grange Heights and was a popular neighbour among the residents there.

He spent many years working in HP Chemie and for the last 20 years was a team member in Sanofi.

The late Emmett DeCourcy is fondly remembered by his family, colleagues and friends.

During his time in Sanofi, he made many close friends and was a popular member of the staff, who was always happy to lend a hand.

He was always known as a caring person and this was shown by his love and care for his four dogs. Prince, Sasha, Molly and Bertie were a huge part of Emmett's life and in lieu of flowers at his funeral, mourners were asked to donate to the ISPCA.

During his life, Emmett had two main sporting interests, football and golf.

Throughout his youth and in his twenties, he was a member of Redstar Football club where he played in goal. He was a keen golfer and a popular member of the Sanofi golf society and Faithlegg Golf Club.

Emmett's family were comforted by the large turnout to both his wake in Thompson's Funeral Home and his funeral mass in the Sacred Heart Church, which included a guard of honour provided by his many friends and work colleagues in Sanofi and burial in St. Otteran's Cemetery.

In attendance also were his many friends from his school days in Mount Sion, Faithlegg Golf Club and friends from the Cove Bar and surrounding areas.

John and Ger DeCourcy would like to thank family and friends who have provided help and support since Emmet’s passing and a special thanks to Leonard Whelan and Mark Walsh.

Emmet was predeceased by his mother Kay. He is survived by his father John, stepmother Ger, uncles, aunts, cousins and many, many friends.

May he Rest in Peace.
