No significant change in Waterford adults recorded as homeless

There has been no significant difference in the number of adults recorded as homeless in Waterford.
That is according to new figures from the July Monthly Homelessness Report published by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
In July, 106 adults were recorded as homeless compared to 105 in June.
Across the South East, Tipperary remains the county with the highest number of recorded homeless adults at 112.
But that is down from 119 in June. Tipperary surpassed Waterford in May at 119. July shows the first reduction since then.
Wexford had the lowest number of recorded adults homeless at 37, which was down from 41 in the previous month.
Kilkenny followed Wexford at 44 and Carlow at 58.
The monthly homelessness report only counts adults in local authority emergency accommodation and does not measure those sleeping on the street or living temporarily with relatives or in vehicles.
It also does not break family numbers down for county, which means we can’t be sure of the number of children homeless in Waterford.
However, according to the report, 79 families were recorded as homeless across the South East region.
That figure includes 123 children.
In June, 76 families and 112 children were recorded as homeless.
In total, 480 people were recorded as homeless in the South East up from 472 in June.
