Nine Waterford Competitors set for WorldSkills Ireland

Nine students and apprentices from across Waterford are preparing to compete at WorldSkills Ireland 2026, which takes place at the RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin from September 16 to 18.
The competitors will join more than 160 entrants from around the country in 31 national skills competitions covering areas such as construction, engineering, manufacturing and digital technology.
Representing Waterford are Cathal Carey, Michael Moran, Mykola Katrych, Andrii Sencha, Carrington Masombo, Shane Allen, Taylor James Morrissey, Nathan Walsh and Alex Whelan.
WorldSkills Ireland is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors.
It provides an opportunity for students, apprentices and trainees to demonstrate their skills while promoting career pathways through apprenticeships and further education.
