Mount Congreve unveil Christmas offerings

Mount Congreve Estate in County Waterford have unveiled their Christmas offerings for the upcoming 2025 season.

From the end of November, the historic house and gardens will come alive with twinkling lights, festive sounds, and the excitement of Santa’s arrival.

At the heart of the celebrations is a very special visit with Santa Claus in the east wing of the house.

The festive atmosphere stretches well beyond the house, and visitors can stroll through the north lawn of the historic main house, which will be transformed into a outdoor winter market.

Free to explore for all Mount Congreve visitors, the market runs on selected dates across November and December and will extend into Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 December for a final pre-Christmas flourish.

Hot drinks, festive treats, and handmade crafts will be served in this scenic showcase, with artisan stalls set against the backdrop of 18th-century architecture and world-renowned gardens.

Santa visits run on weekends from Friday, November 28 until Tuesday December 23. Tickets must be pre-booked as capacity is limited, with each child’s ticket (€35) including a festive gift, a printed photo, and a Christmas treat. Adults (€10) can enjoy a complimentary hot beverage and festive bite, while babies (€20) receive a keepsake “My First Christmas” decoration.

Grown-ups can embrace the season too, with a special programme of creative workshops and events designed for adults.

Highlights include candle making on December 13, calligraphy workshops on December 6, festive afternoon teas on selected dates, and the chance to make a wreath in time for Christmas.

Seasonal planting and floral displays will bring even more festive colour to the gardens.

Tickets for all events go on sale from September 10 at mountcongreve.com
