Gardaí in Waterford are investigating an assault and robbery that occurred in the city.
A spokesperson for the force told Waterford News & Star that members of the crime unit are investigating the incident which occurred on Monday, June 2.
It happened on the Old Tramore Road, in the Kilcohan area of the city, in the early hours of the morning.
The Garda spokesperson said a male was walking home from work at around 00.50am and was passing through the car park at Kilcohan Shopping Centre when two males approached him.
A demand for cash was made, however the man kept walking.
"He continued walking and one of the males pushed him to ground," said the spokesperson.
The victim was then assaulted and had his wallet stolen, which contained a sum of money.
She went on to say the injured party was extremely shaken by the incident.
The suspects are described as male with local Waterford accents.
The first was approximately 5ft 9 or 10, was of slim build with a thin beard while the second male was shorter and was wearing a hoody.
"They walked off in the direction of St Herblain Park," said the spokesperson.
"CCTV has been obtained and if you can assist in any way in identifying these suspects please contact Waterford Crime Unit on 051 305300," she added.
