Man in court charged with random assault on Waterford quays
Waterford Courthouse
A man appeared in court last week in relation to a random assault he is alleged to have committed on a stranger on Meagher’s Quay in Waterford city.
34-year-old Martin Creede, of no fixed abode, appeared in Waterford District Court charged with assault causing harm.
It is alleged that on October 9, 2025, at approximately 8:20pm, the injured party was walking in the vicinity of Meagher's Quay, when Creede walked against him and, for an unknown reason, struck the injured party in the nose, causing him to bleed.
He was later identified via CCTV footage. Judge Kevin Staunton accepted jurisdiction. The matter will come before the court again on May 5.
