Man (40s) arrested after incident in Waterford City

A man in his 40's has been arrested by Gardaí in Waterford after an incident in the Carickphierish area.

Gardaí attended a scene near Mount Suir Manor at approximately 7.45pm yesterday evening (Wednesday September 16).

A man in his 20's was hospitalized for treatment of injuries understood to be 'non-life threatening at this time'. 

Gardaí arrested a man who is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in a Garda Station in Co. Waterford.

Investigations are ongoing.
