Late Mrs Marian Kennedy (née Griffin) 

The death took place on September 29 of Mrs Marian Kennedy (nee Griffin), Ard Na Coille, Coxtown, Dunmore East. Her remains reposed in Tom Hennessy’s Funeral Home, Johnstown, Waterford on Wednesday, October 1, with her funeral arriving to Holy Cross Church, Killea for her Requiem Mass on Thursday, October 2, at 11.30 am, followed by private cremation. Predeceased by her sons Shane and Derek, and her brother John, she is survived by her husband Paul, her son Dale, grandchildren Ava and Liam, daughter-in-law Broyna, sisters-in-law Mary, Kathleen and Breda, brothers-in-law Robert, Laurence and Michael, nieces, nephews extended family, neighbours and friends. 

Mass Times in Killea, Crooke and Faithlegg 

Please note Rev Fr Breen P.P. is away during the week and there will be just weekend Masses in all churches in the Parish. So Sunday, October 12, in Killea Church at 9.30am. Mass in Carbally Church every Sunday at 11am. 

Barony Of Gaultier Event 

On Thursday, October 9, at 7.30pm the above have a night in Aggie's Bar, Killea, entitled Fireside Talks. Bring along your photos, stories and memories to share. Admission is €5 and host for the evening is Ray McGrath. 

Lifeboat News 

Thanks to all who joined us in "The Spinnaker Bar" on Thursday, September 27, for our Fundraising Quiz, an enjoyable time was had by all. It's fantastic as always to see such incredible support for Dunmore East RNLI. To all who donated raffle prizes, Quizmasters Tom and David Ryan, the hardworking team in The Spinnaker and our fundraising volunteers and all those who came along for their support. Lifeboat shop opening hours going forward. A reminder of the shop's opening hours now Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Saturday 11am to 4pm, Sunday 12.30pm to 4.30pm. 

South Coast Sailing Course 

The above have their next RYA VHF Radio Operators Certificate Course and Exam scheduled to run in Dunmore East at Waterford Harbour Sailing club. The dates are Saturday/Sunday, October 25/26. Open Darts Tournament 

Coming up on Saturday, November 1, in Dowers Bar, Ballymacaw, is an Open Darts Tournament at 8pm sharp. Proceeds go to the Carbally Community Centre and entry fee is €5 per person. Live music on night and raffle and spots. Contact Wayne Power for all details.

Athletics 

Réalt na Mara National School participated in the Waterford City and Surrounding areas at the Primary Schools Cross Country races at the RSC playing pitches last Tuesday and they had very good results being 3rd Overall in the Small Schools Category and had a few winners, 2nds and 3rds and others in top 12 who got medals also.

Halloween Family Disco 

Book your spot at our family disco, limited tickets available. For info contact Michelle on 086 8557041. Pumpkin carving competition, scarecrow competition, fancy dress, games and dancing on Thursday, October 30, at 5pm in Carbally Community Centre. Admission €5, family of five €20.
