Waterford High Hopes Choir was established by well-known Irish composer David Brophy in 2015.

The aim of the choir is to use the medium of music to give a voice to people who were isolated or appear silenced by society and to assist people in their recovery from addiction, abuse, mental health issues, serious illness and homelessness.

The idea of forming the choir was to facilitate people of all ages and backgrounds to form friendships, support each other, and eliminate homelessness by sharing a mutual appreciation of music, song and storytelling.
