With pop – up gaeltachts happening across the city and county, the rise in casual use of the Irish language has certainly reached Waterford. It’s good news for Irish language learners, gaelgeoirs and bookworms alike because there will be a bilingual writers talk happening in Dungarvan this month.

The Laureate for Irish Fiction Éilís Ní Dhuibhne will be speaking at the Dungarvan Library on Saturday March 14 from 7pm. Irish-language writers Anna Heusaff and Réaltán Ní Leannáin will also be there to discuss contemporary Irish fiction. This is the perfect opportunity to hear all about how literature in this language is not just what you studied in your Leaving Cert but casts a wide net across genres such a crime and literary fiction.

It’s a free event and open to the public, but booking is essential. Phone Dungarvan Library on 058 211 41 to book your spot.

All are welcome.

If you can’t make it on the day, the event will be recorded and available on the Arts Council’s podcast and YouTube channels.
