Comeraghs Wild, July 9 to July 12

The Comeraghs Wild Festival 2026 has officially launched its full programme, unveiling a wide-ranging celebration of music, landscape, storytelling, heritage, outdoor recreation and community taking place across the Comeragh region of County Waterford from July 9 to July 12, 2026.

The festival opens on Thursday, July 9, in Rathgormack with 'Wild Laughs: Bernard Casey Live in Rathgormack', at The Village Bar.  Supported by live music from Moylan the opening night sets the tone for a weekend of entertainment, energy and community spirit in the heart of the Comeraghs.

A major musical highlight follows on Friday, July 10, at Cooney’s Yard, where The Frank and Walters will headline an open-air mountain concert alongside Ruaile Buaile. The signature festival event blends indie nostalgia with high-energy trad fusion.

Other highlights include Dancing Beneath the Comeraghs at Rathgormack Hiking Centre, traditional sheep shearing demonstrations at Cooney’s Yard, a vintage and classic car show with the Comeragh Classic Car Club at Coach House Coffee, guided looped walks across the mountain landscape, and a cyanotype workshop exploring sun printing techniques using natural materials from the local environment.

My Real Life, June 18, Theatre Royal

Four Rivers returns to the stage this year with a nationwide tour of Eoin Colfer’s blackly comedic and very moving play about love, life and death, 'My Real Life'.

In this stunning one-man play, Wexford man Noel records his thoughts for a friend to provide ‘a bit of a speech for the afters’.

We soon learn the ‘afters’ in question concern Noel’s own funeral.

He has been diagnosed with MS and decides to spend what is possibly the last hour of his life re-living the highs and lows of the past 40 years.

Noel is played by one of Ireland’s leading actors, Garrett Lombard, who last featured for Four Rivers in Jim Nolan’s 'Castel Gandolfo', in 2024 which sold out in record time.
