Major concert for Brain Tumour Ireland to take place at SETU Arena

The concert will take place at SETU Arena

SETU Arena in Waterford will provide the venue for a very special concert later this month in support of Brain Tumour Ireland.

The concert, under the theme 'Christmas in June', will feature the Adult Youth Orchestra of Ireland and will take place on June 30, at 7.30pm.

The orchestra will be conducted by Ronan O'Reilly, Liam Daly, Dr Kevin O'Carroll and Dara Pender, with leader, Sara Murphy.

A spokesperson for the orchestra told Waterford News & Star its members were proud to present the concert for such a worthy cause.

However, in addition to being a great evening of entertainment anyway, what will likely make the event an extra special occasion will be the theme.

A fundraising concert with a difference the concert will bring some festive cheer to the Déíse and in some ways it's perfectly apt seeing as the summer to-date hasn't exactly bowled people over with fine weather.

As the spokesperson for the orchestra commented: "In 2022, 'Christmas in June' was presented but this time is' Christmas in June - the Revene'."

"We will perform for you a selection of movie music from Christmas films we expect to see and those films that are synonymous with Christmas time on our small screens," said the spokesperson.

Those in attendance can expect to hear tunes and music from movies such as 'Die Hard 2' (yes it is a Christmas movie), 'Willie Wonka', 'Sound of Music' and 'White Christmas'.

The concert will be a must not just for all discerning music fans but also those with an interest in classic Christmas films.

The venue will also provide an ideal setting to hear some of Ireland's foremost, world class musicians perform and it really does promise to be one of the music highlights of the year.

Tickets for the concert, priced €25, are now available on eventbrite.ie
