Ger Frisby elected Cathaoirleach of Piltown Municipal District

Fianna Fáil councillor Ger Frisby was announced as new Cathaoirleach of the Piltown Municipal District following an AGM held earlier today in Ferrybank.
The Slieverue native will take over from outgoing Cathaoirleach, Cllr Pat Dunphy (FG).
Cllr Frisby's party colleague Cllr Jenny Catt Slattery will serve as Leas-Cathaoirleach for the year ahead.
Speaking at the AGM today, Cllr Frisby thanked his colleagues for proposing for the position.
"We all work as a team along with the local area engineers. It runs smoothly and we're all in it for the Piltown Municipal area" he said.
"We fight tooth and nail and at the end of the day its about trying to better the whole area in any way we can
"I look forward to working with Jenny as Leas-Cathaoirleach and everyone else on the team to make the meetings as smooth and productive as possible."
The municipal district of Piltown is made up of councillors Ger Frisby (FF), Jenny Catt Slattery (FF), Pat Dunphy (FG), Fidelis Doherty (FG) and Tomas Breathnach (Lab).
The district meets monthly in Ferrybank to discuss issues impacting the south Kilkenny area, as well as issues that relate to South Tipperary and Waterford city.
The North Quays, Greenway routes and the future of Ferrybank Shopping Centre are regular items discussed by the five councillors of the district.
